Indie Reader ("we", "us"), operated by Crown & Rose LLC, respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and — just as importantly — what we deliberately do not collect.

Our privacy principle

Our analytics are built to be anonymous by design. For understanding how the app is used, we collect only interaction signals — taps, clicks, and pauses — and for commerce we record only what was purchased, when, and (at most) where. We do not expose personal information in our analytics or share it with analytics partners.

Interaction analytics (no personal information)

On our web experience we use Microsoft Clarity to see how people move through the store. It captures only anonymous interaction data:

• Touches / clicks — which buttons, links and cards are tapped.
• Pauses / dwell — where attention lingers, scroll depth and time on a screen.
• Page and screen views — the routes visited within the app.

Text you type is masked, and no names, email addresses, passwords, or contact details are recorded in analytics. These signals are used solely to improve layout, navigation and performance.

Purchase insights (metadata only)

When you buy or pre-order a title, the only commerce insight we keep or share with our catalog partner (Crown & Rose) is:

• What — the book title / catalog id.
• When — the date and time of the transaction.
• Where — the platform or store used (e.g. web, iOS, Android) and, at most, an approximate region.

This is linked to a one-way anonymous code, never to your name, email, or payment card. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and are never stored by us.

Account & service data

To run the reading service itself (not analytics), your account holds your email and display name, your owned books and reading progress, and a device identifier used to enforce download/transfer limits. This data stays private to your account and is never fed into our interaction analytics.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share only the minimum needed to run the app — anonymous interaction signals with our analytics provider, anonymous purchase metadata with our catalog partner, and the essentials with hosting, email delivery and payment processors.

Your choices

You can delete (deactivate) your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account. You may contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.
